Uvonda Willis is an educator with over a decade of teaching experience. Her experience includes teaching all levels of high school English and serving as an adjunct English instructor for prominent community and technical colleges in North Carolina. She received her BA in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; MEd from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro; MEd in Supervision and Administration and EdS in Educational Leadership from Liberty University. Mrs. Willis is a former English teacher and administrator of Pitt County Schools and currently serves as an Assistant Principal at Greene Central High School. In 2008, she published Quoting My Way through Teaching. This book integrates her classroom experiences with student-inspired quotes. It is her desire to use this book as a motivational tool for not only teachers, but any individual who has the potential to influence others. She wants all leaders to realize that in life, all of us are teachers and when we “teach”, we share our wisdom, knowledge and experiences with others and this helps others to become better people. In 2013 and 2014, Mrs. Willis partnered with Pitt County Schools' Beginning Teachers Initiative as its keynote speaker both years. Life’s crossroads can hinder or cause doubt concerning purpose; Quoting offers all readers affirmation concerning life’s purpose. Mrs. Willis is married and has three children: Keyasia, Jayden and Jonathon Willis. In her spare time, she enjoys writing, listening to music, spending time with family and traveling with her ministry.
